Hi there,
I can walk you through how to make each of those changes (and don’t worry, you don’t need to edit the sidebar.php file to do it).
1. The “in archive” appearing on right hand side.
That section is one of the default Widgets for the Responsive theme you’re using. If you don’t add any new widgets to your site, the theme will automatically display that widget in the sidebar.
To remove it, you can open your site’s customizer and head to the Widgets section there. In the main sidebar, you can add a blank Text Widget. That will prevent the default widget from appearing there. (You can also add other widgets to that area if you’d like other content in that sidebar.)
2. “Leave a comment” link
4. “Leave a reply” text box and link on the bottom.
The “Leave a comment” link and the “Leave a reply” box are intimately connected, so I’ll walk you through the steps to remove both of those together:
When comments are enabled on your site’s posts, you’ll see that reply box for leaving comments and a link on the main page to get to that reply box. To remove them, you can disable comments.
If you’d like to disable comments by default for all the new posts you create, you can do that from your site’s Discussion Settings. Under “Default article settings” there, you can uncheck the box next to “Allow people to post comments on new articles.”
To disable comments on your existing posts and pages, I’d recommend following these steps to disable them in bulk:
- Go to the Posts > All Posts screen in your site’s WP Admin dashboard.
- Select the posts you would like to modify or check the box next to “Title” column at the top to select all posts on that page.
- Select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop down menu.
- Click the Apply button.
- Change the option for Comments to Do not allow.
- Click the Update button.
- Repeat with your Pages.
3. Like button that has a star on it.
The like button is controlled by your site’s Sharing Buttons settings. Under “Comment Likes” you can uncheck the box next to “On for all posts.”
You can also turn comment likes on or off for individual posts in the editor. When you create or edit a post or page, you can head to the “LIKES & SHARES” section in the editor’s sidebar and uncheck the box next to “Show Likes” to turn them off on that particular post/page.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
