need to switch domain but it’s non-existent on here for some reason

    hi, i’m part of a club and we made a new website for this year. we are using wix, so we are trying to transfer the domain from wordpress to wix. however, when i go to manage domains, it says we do not have a domain on wordpress. interestingly enough, when we try to use the domain ‘vccatuva.com’ on wix, it says the domain is already taken. please help!

    Hi there!

    I’ve checked the domain and it appears it was last renewed with us in May 2020. The domain expired in June 2021. Through the lengthy process of domain expiration, the domain was removed from our side, so it’s no longer registered with us.

    I looked up the domain’s WHOIS database here and I can see that the domain is already registered by someone else at another company. That’d be the reason why you can’t register this as a new domain on Wix’s end. You may want to reach out to the current owner of the domain to see about purchasing it from them. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to help anymore as we lose control of the domain when it is removed from our end.
