Need to Transfer Domain

I tried to transfer it to a new registrar a few months ago but did not complete the process.
Today, my website is no longer publicly reachable via the domain name but it is reachable if I update my HOSTS file. I don’t see the domain name in wordpress nor do I have access to the DNS tools in wordpress to check on the DNS. I notice that the registrant information was updated today. I see that the domain is still with WordPress but it’s no longer active. Can you activate my domain so that I can go through the transfer process?

Looking to contact WordPress.com support because of domain name issue. Posting in this forum is not getting me answers but this seems to be the only way to get support.
I need someone to activate a domain that suddenly went inactive yesterday.

So I’m upgraded my plan to get paid support and submitted the request… after over 12 hours, I’m still waiting for help.

I see that you sent us an email shortly after upgrading, and we’ve already responded to you there.
To reiterate, your domain expired a while ago and is now in a state called the redemption period. We can still restore the domain for you, but there’s an $80 redemption fee on top of the domain’s regular renewal fee ($19).
If you’d like to proceed, please reply here or to the email we sent you. We’ll send you the payment request via email and redeem the domain after you’ve paid and informed us.
