New account and bill
-
Hello
Please can you help me ???
It looks like I’ve been billed for my wordpress account but I thought I’d signed up for a free account ??
I have a pretty poor website that I already pay hosting ? for and I’d like to attempt to make my own website and upload to this as I’m already paying for it.
I have a friend helping and together we would also like to set up a website purely for a blog and to experience the fun of building a website using wordpress, again we would like to use the free service but cannot see to upload this.
I’ve look at the help pages but am totally confused. I can see that wordpress.com supplies the whole thing templates and hosting, wordpress.org is free but doesnt offer hosting.
Any help would be appreciated as we’re both novices. Is there a walkthrough ? We’re finding the process of building the website easy enough its all the terminology and pricing that is a problem.
Please can I not be billed as I haven’t made the site and only registered with wordpress yesterday.Regards
Robert Gardner

Hi there,
I would be happy to assist you in cancelling and refunding your purchase. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into refunding the subscription purchase.
Are you sure you were billed by us and not through a host of a self-hosted WordPress.org site that you own?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell
Thanks for your swift reply – I apologise that I haven’t done the same but I’m working all hours at the moment. As stated I’m totally new for WordPress, I set up the account with what I thought was a free account but using the people that are already hosting my defunct website, then I was called to work. I got home extremely late hadn’t touched the computer and I’m afraid I cant remember where but there was a invoice from WordPress for around £85 or $85 ? I panicked closed WordPress and turned my computer off. The next day I emailed the forums. I got your mail yesterday and checked my account and your correct, no invoice no billing. I’ve been working 13hr days and have been extremely tired. I’m certain I didn’t imagine it but maybe I possibly misread it. What I recall that it was a light blue box with the invoice in. I know thats vague but perhaps the blue box is a theme of WordPress ??
Will it be OK to make a blog and see if I can upload. I’ve had a good look at the WordPress information and its a bit overwhelming. Could you recommend a link to start from. I think I’ll work on my friends first so all we want is a free blog that’s free to upload and use, using WordPressMany Thanks

Darnell I’ve found it and now that I have seen it properly I think its just a offer – either for a years free, or a years premium which is £85. My description wasn’t too bad either. :-)
Is there a means of adding a screenshot so I can show you ? -
Hi there,
Were you able to log into the proper account to see the charge? What domain was associated with the plan you purchased? In terms of proof, we’ll need confirmation that you own the account where the charge took place.
I would be more than happy to assist you in regaining access to your account. If you could please fill out our account recovery form, we’ll definitely get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Please visit our support page for more information on recovering your account.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell
Please accept my apologies for not replying I’ve had a few hectic weeks and now of course its nearly Christmas. I’ve been so busy I’ve had to put WordPress on the back burner for the moment.
I have borrowed a WordPress for Dummies book and will have to start again in the new year when the chances are I will need help – but lets hope not !!
I thank you for your support and patience so far.Lastly I wish you a Merry Christmas and a great 2017
All the best
Rob Gardner
