    Hi there I have just bought. domain on host gator and want to get started using it on WordPress … how do I integrate the two and get started?

    There are two types of WordPress:

    • WordPress.com: where the site is created and hosted here on WordPress.com.
    • WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software is installed on a third party host like HostGator.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    With that in mind, do you want to create a site here on WordPress.com? Or use the domain on a WordPress.org site hosted by HostGator?
