  Just got a domain from godaddy, and want to use wordpress. should i choose Map your domain in wordpress and continue? how about hosting will it be on godaddy or wordpress? any info appreciated thx

  You last question first – that depends on you. Do you want to host the site with GoDaddy using the open source version of WordPress, or do you want to host it with us on WordPress.com using our managed version? You can read about the difference between these options here:

  If you want to host your site with us, create a new site at https://wordpress.com/start/site/. To use the domain you bought from GoDaddy with that site, you’ll need to buy one of our paid plans so you can map the domain here.

  If you want to host the site at GoDaddy, you’ll need to contact them to ask about their hosting plans and the process for installing the WordPress software over there. Support for that version of WordPress is provided by the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
