new domain name/website

  I have a wordpress website which I set up in 2016 and I want to buy a new domain name and transfer my old website into the new one which I will create. I can’t work out how to do it (and I think I’ve lost my password and login details)

  Hi there,

  I do not see any sites under your @lissagibbins WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.

  Is it possible you created your site under a different login?  Is it the case that you are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

  Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

  Hi there,
  Thank you for your reply.
  Yes, I set up my website with you in 2016 I think with a different email address which is now closed. The email address was (email visible only to moderators and staff) and the URL of the website is: https://aidememoire2016.wordpress.com

  Thanks for the details!

  So, first of all, you’ll want to recover access to that old account. To do that, you can use the form on this page:

  https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/.

  Once you have recovered access, you’ll be able to either work directly there and purchase a new plan/domain for that site, or you can transfer that site to your new account and do it from there:

  https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/.
