New pages won't appear

    I’m having a problem getting new pages to appear on the blog. I have 2 existing pages and just want to add a third. I know the process and am taking the same steps I have to create the 2 I have. The thing is, the new page exists in the “Pages” page — the one where you can click the boxes on the left to do bulk actions. So, as far as the dashboard is concerned, the page exists. But, on the actual blog itself, it doesn’t.

    It’s incredibly frustrating, because I’m trying to create a series of posts with their own page, and WordPress just won’t let me do it. It just doesn’t work. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there,

    I’m sorry for the frustration. Are you running into this on your blog at http://darkentriesdjd.wordpress.com/ or the one at http://retroghoulsandshocks.com/ ?

    On your blog at http://darkentriesdjd.wordpress.com/ I see you have one published page and two drafts. Those draft pages won’t appear on the blog until they are published.

    The blog at http://retroghoulsandshocks.com/ is a bit different. That blog is using a custom menu. You’ll need to add the new pages to the custom menu under Appearance > Menus in the blog’s dashboard — then they’ll appear on the blog.

    You can also check the box next to “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu” on that screen, so in the future when you create new pages they’ll be automatically added to the menu.

    Sorry for sending two messages right in a row, but I didn’t want to forget what you mentioned here:

    I’m trying to create a series of posts with their own page

    If you’d like to put a series of posts on their own page, I’d recommend setting up a category page for that, instead of a regular page. That way, any post you publish in that category will be automatically added to that category page.

    Just let me know if you have any questions about setting that up!

    Thanks so much for the fast response! To answer your questions, this was in regards to Retro Ghouls and Shocks. I’ve since abandoned the other one in favor of RG&S. And yes, going through Appearance > Menus totally worked. I can see it now. Thanks loads. I’ll also try creating a Category Page as well and see if I like that more.
