New post editor doesn't ask me which post I would like to create

  Every time I click the new post icon (new post editor, not classic), I see the “Beep, beep, boop” graphic and then I am taken directly to the title prompt of a new post. From what I understand, clicking the new post icon is supposed to first give me a list of icons of types of posts I might like to create (text, link, image, etc.) or has this changed? For those of use that use Post Formats, being given the option to select which type of post to create is super helpful. Otherwise, having to constantly drop down the Advanced list to change the post format just become cumbersome. Why not just use the classic editor in that case? Can you guys shed some light on this? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  You can now select the Post Format for your post in the “Advanced Settings” section of the post editor. The new editor is designed to have many of the features of the classic editor, such as changing the post format as you create and edit the post, which is why you’ll find that option there now.
