new site name

I want to change my site name, but it says the site already exists. However, when I try to go to that said site, it says “Site can no longer be found. the authors have already deleted this site.” Is this an error, or is it just a waiting period until that site name becomes available again?
The site name I am wishing to use is magnoliadiaries.wordpress.com

THere is no error, and there is no waiting period. That URL is gone completely and forever. You can use Magnolia Diaries as a title, and you can get a custom domain (assuming nobody else owns it) of Magnoliadiaries.com and map it to your blog here for $18 a year. In that case, the underlying domain name doesn’t matter at all.

OK, thank you. That domain is already taken as well. I will continue to think os a new one.
I am debating on switching my blog site to wordpress from another site and am wanting to completely change domain name and revamp the site.
