When new subscribers try to subscribe to my blog they receive this notification: “Sorry but this email has been blocked. It has too many subscriptions pending confirmation.” I tried with an email address which I seldom use, and it was the same for me.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As the error says, this problem is caused by the fact it has too many subscriptions pending confirmation. In simple words: people who did or has been subscribed, never confirmed their subscription.

    Steps to Clear Pending Subscriptions

    • Open your Reader page on WordPress.com.
    • Click on Manage Subscriptions (often found near your subscription or follow settings).
    • Select the Pending tab to view the list of blogs or comment threads stuck in a limbo state.
    • Click Delete or Cancel on the excessive or bugged pending items to clear your account limit immediately.

unfortunately, your comment doesn’t apply here. When a potential subscriber told me of the problem I tried using an email address which I have never used for subscriptions and the same thing happened.

That’s because you have too many pending subscription.

Honestly did you even read the post. I don’t have too many pending subscriptions!

  • Are subscribers attempting to follow using a WordPress.com account, or as email-only (unauthenticated) followers?

    no, their email addresses. Gmail

  • When new people try to subscribe, WordPress sends them a confirmation email. If too many invited subscribers leave those confirmation emails unaccepted, your site hits a safety cap for pending requests. This is why even a brand-new email address gets blocked right now.

Here is how to fix this:

    • Go to your site dashboard.
    • Navigate to Users → Subscribers (or Followers).
    • Check the Pending tab to view unconfirmed invitations.
    • Clear out or remove those old pending invites to free up space for new subscribers.
