I see lot’s of info for me as the “blogger” but some folks are having trouble finding out how to subscribe. Are there instructions I can email out to them? Thanks Donna

If you mean by email it is fairly straightforward – if they are logged into WordPress.COM (they have an account / blog here) and they click on the “Subscribe” button the subscrcription is done.
If they are not logged into WordPress.COM they need to fill out their email address – click on the button and they are sent an email that says they are subscribed – there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email as well as some other options they can use to manage how often they here from you.
I guess you could put instructions in a Text Widget just below the Subscribe Button if you wanted – you also have the RSS feed info at the top for those that use an RSS reader – pretty easy.

If they have an email here then no confirmation will be needed – if their email is not attached to a blog here then a subscriber will need to click on the link in the email to confirm that they really want to subscribe. WordPress.COM requires an opt-in so I can’t subscribe you to a blog you really don’t like.

PS – sorry for the confusion on one point – if a subscriber has an email with WordPress.COM but are logged out then they will need to also confirm they want to subscribe.
Some people have complained in the past about the opt-in feature being a bit too much for some of their subscribers – but as noted above the opt-in feature is to prevent someone else from subscribing you to a blog.
