New to wordpress – already own a hosted domain

I already have a website and domain that I use. My website is well out of date and needs redoing and I have been told WordPress is the way to go. If I create a website here using word press can it still be hosted on my current domain through my current provider? Or should is there a version of the software I should buy? So confused, used to just use front page….

If you want to use your current webhost, you should look into downloading and installing the free WordPress software from WordPress.org.
