new user registration problem

We are suddenly having a problem with new user registration to our private blog. We normally have had interested users go to our specific blog url, select “register” and then fill in their username and password. WordPress would then automatically know that they were interested in our specific blog. As of yesterday, the system doesn’t link the new users who are registering to our blog but instead forces the person registering to start their own blog. There is no way for them to register for our specific blog. I hope this explanation makes sense. Has anyone else had this problem?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The “register” link on that page is for visitors who don’t already have a WordPress.com account to sign up for a new account. When someone registers for a new account, they are invited to create a blog at the same time. However, if they only want to create a username, they can click the link on the registration page that says, “If you don’t want a blog you can signup for just a username.”

Once that person has a WordPress.com account, they can visit your private blog again and request access. We have more information about how that works here: Viewing a Private Blog

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
