New website

I own my domain to go daddy and I had a website managed by audiology plus through word press and I need to know if I can just manage my website myself through word press. I’m not sure how to move the website back to word press. Audiology plus refuses to give me the administrative user ID and password for word press and I would like to get it from you

obviously the forum can’t help me with the problem above that I wrote in with. I have been trying to find a phone # or any way to directly contact the support staff at word press. If anyone knows how to contact them that would be a great help! Thanks!

  • Hi there,

We can’t help with that either. We’re WordPress.com the hosting provider and we have no control over WordPress-powered sites that are hosted elsewhere.

The only one that can help you recover access to your WordPress site is your hosting provider.

If you want to learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and the WordPress software that your site is using you can read this article:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

my site is still up on wordpress until June 10th and Audiology plus has sent me my website info. It would be so amazing if I could just speak to someone there and get info on what I need to do to keep the website going as it is on wordpress but not controlled by Audiology Plus. I would like to leave it as is and just host it myself. I paid for the website to be developed and I own the domain thru godaddy and so it would seem to be pretty simple to do. Could I just get some contact info please?

  • What is the URL of the site you’re trying to access?

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And, they do have some options for you at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.
