  I am updating/rebuilding my wordpress site, and want to try Genesis Frameworks within my wordpress account, but do not want to change my original website until I’m done. Why is it confusing to do this? How do I do it?

  Looks like you’re in the wrong forum. It appears that you’re using the self-hosted version of WordPress and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

  https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
