  Hi,
  We are looking to start a WordPress website and have already bought our domain. On WordPress, it says that the first year with a domain is free, but I cannot enter the domain we already own. How do I create a WordPress website with a domain I already own?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  We have two ways to use a domain you already own with a WordPress.com site:

  Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  All paid plans include one free domain registration, transfer, or mapping.
