New Word Press Blog Template

    Ladies and Gentlemen:

    This is not technically an ‘ask for help’ message unless you can revamp your new blog posting template and bring back the old template you had prior. As you can probably tell, I am not a computer person or sophisticate; but I do have a blog post via WordPress. I’ve had it for a few years now and I post recopies on it, and I do have a following who enjoy my dishes and comments. Up to now, it’s been a joy posting these recipes on-line—and then you go and change the whole posting procedure and make something very easy to work with into a nightmare.

    I really do want to know. Is there a pathology with you Techie types that has to make something infinitely simple into something more complex? I had to hire a Tech guy to figure out your new posting system. Everything from writing the post, to posting it, is sheer frustration.. Even something as simple as inserting a photo into the post is hell on wheels now. Before it was noted right on the screen where to post the picture. Now you have to go looking all over the place for a starting point and in the end you get a black square with a plus sign on it. What’s up with that? Now, tags and categories are two separate things. And what happened to the freakin’ toolbar? Initially it was posted up on top of the template right under the blog tittle. Now I have to go all over the place to find it. I could go on-and-on, but it would get depressing.

    There is an old adage: ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ You had a reliably good template before for posting a blog. So why mess it up with something new and unintelligible? Also, if there someway I can get back to the way it was before when the damn thing was simple? The person I hired ,tried to find the old method/template, whatever you call it, and had no success.

    Please, for our sake, bring back the old program and trash this new system. Or, give me same directions as to how I can get back to the old program (if that’s possible).

    I have become so jaded as to imagine this is what happened: One day one or more of your tech guys comes into the office or whatever (unless they work from home and had nothing to do), and decided, for the fun of it, less rewrite this program. They think, It’ll give us something to do so that we can justify our existence to the higher ups. The result? You mess up a do-able reputable program into something else, and infinitely more complex. You guys need to get a girlfriend, boyfriend, or pet. Because you obviously live in a different universe.

    Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ including documentation for their new editor at https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-editor/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    With that said, you can restore the classic editor on your site by using the Classic Editor plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
