New WordPress Website Not Getting Indexed by Google – What Am I Missing?

  Hi everyone,

  I’m relatively new to WordPress and recently launched my first website. The site is live, pages are published, and I’ve submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console.

  However, after a few weeks, most of my pages still aren’t appearing in Google search results. I’ve already checked that:

  • The site is public and not set to discourage search engines.
  • The sitemap has been submitted.
  • Pages are accessible and loading normally.
  • Basic SEO settings are configured.

  As a beginner, I’m not sure if this is normal for a new website or if I’ve missed an important step during setup.

  What are the most common reasons a new WordPress site struggles to get indexed, and what should I check first?
