Newbie Help – layout and organisation

  Hi,
  I’ve recently started a blog, but would like to organise so that I have a home page that has the latest thing I’ve written, then separate pages for each category of what I’ve wrote about, for example sport and music on seperate pages, so if someone wanted to just read about sport they’d go to that page, or just about music they’d go to that page. I’ve tried working it using categories and pages but can’t seem to get it written. I also would like to move the two posts I have already written into aforementioned sport category.

  Hi,

  What you’ve described is best accomplished using category pages. Assign one or more categories to each of your posts (new and previously published). Then use category pages to organize them, and create a custom menu to provide convenient access to each category page. A category page is a type of archives page.
