  Hi! So i’m just about to get started and i was wondering if i choose the wordpress.com name extension first now then change it to .com (with charge) later on.

  Is that possible or no?

  Yes, you can start with the WordPress.com subdomain and then purchase and register a custom domain for your site. When you’re ready, all you need to do is follow the instructions on our support page to register the domain:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
