  Hi, i just registered a domain .. but with wix, right after i decided to rather go with wordpress. Now it says to transfer my domain i would have to wait 61 days. Is there anyway to speed up this process. I was just on the phone with wix and they said it is no problem to transfer the domain. Regardless of the wait, is it possible to create a website in the meantime and then publish it once my domain is free for transfer ? or should i use another domain that you offer in the meantime. All these payment plans stress me out. HELP

  Hi there,

  All newly registered domain names are on a 60-day lock. That lock is imposed by the ICANN (Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers) and cannot be waived.

  What you can do until that lock is lifted is to keep your domain with Wix and connect it to a site hosted here on WordPress.com. Here’s how that works:
