No ad does not appear to be working
-
Recently, I have heard advertisements popping up on my WordPress blog. This is not happened in the last six months. Last night I subscribe to the service of blocks ads. But I’m still getting three black bars appearing on my WordPress website. These bars have a small “hide ad” annotation at the top and they can be moved to the side but not removed. What can I do to fix this?

Those do not sound like ads run by WordPress.com.
Please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were *not* placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

Thanks for that. I was able to use a function in Adblock that has removed the bars from the blog. Interestingly, they weren’t visible to anybody except me so it was clearly some infection on my computer which I now appear to have fixed. I think it may also have been associated with Ask. Com which really should be called Didn’task.com. Thank you for your help
