no autosave

  Isn’t WordPress supposed to make autosave-copies? I very often get the notice (in German, I don’t know the exact words in English): ‘This page demands/needs a lot of energy, therefore it will be reloaded.’ Everything I am writing vanishes then and I can’t recover the lost content. Even if my page is quite full, how can WordPress not save my words? I write a lot, but not sooo much! ;-)

  Sorry to hear that! Auto-save can fail for a few reasons:

  1. If the internet connection is interrupted, which results in the connection between your device and our servers to drop.
  2. Browser-specific issues, which can be due to extensions or just not clearing the cache in a long time.

  Could you try the following steps to see if they help?

  • Clear the browser cache. Here’s how to clear your browser cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
  • Use a different browser to see if auto-saving still fails.
  • Connect to a different internet connection and see if the result is the same.
