No control over images on edit page

    I haven’t used wordpress.com for a while and things seem to have changed. In spite of repeated attempts with the cursor at the beginning of a paragraph, I cannot get an image to place there so the text wraps around it. It is invariably placed below the text. On the same theme, I can’t find any controls to cut, paste or resize an image in the text editor. Is this a degradation of functionality or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
