No phone number?

WordPress support has no phone number? Is this serious or a joke? I run a business and do not have time to sit around and monitor emails, when I need assistance I need to be able to place a call and speak with a person directly. Even though wordpress was recommended by others, I am unsure if I can use it with no support.

Main issue at first is: I have had horrible experiences with other site builders. If I try WordPress for free, can I upgrade to a business package later without losing my progress or any saved work? The decision to sign up would be a lot easier if payments weren’t collected all up front. A few hundred dollars isn’t a ton of money, but it is a lot to waste on something if I will be dissatisfied with it.
