No success with google apps email. In limbo – can't get to the success

  I am stuck in the Google Apps WordPress verify-your-domain hell. I can’t get to the “success” part of the verification process (on the word press end of thing). I’ve followed the steps with no luck. It seems easy enough … but … Houston, there is a problem …

  To set up your own email address with the custom domain, please follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/add-email/

  Thanks. I found I needed to go the Google Webmaster tools and copy the google string there. Odd. Don’t know why it wouldn’t let me verify using the WordPress automated method. Finding that answer wasn’t easy either. And there are not instructions to remove the “google verification =” etc. Kind of a nightmare, I must say. I was going in circles for ever. The weird thing is the Google Apps sent a verification email, which then didn’t verify then every email after that it sent to the “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” which wasn’t verified … so I couldn’t get the mail. Duh. All is good now that the Motrin has kicked in for the screaming headache this was. :)
