Non-responsive icons?

  For several weeks now WP has, simply, been unresponsive when I’ve clicked on things; for instance when I click the icon to add a photo, nothing happens, when I want to approve someone’s comment nothing happens, and today I wanted to change the contents of a widget, and can’t open it. Is it you or is it my computer? Generally I go away, do something else, re-log on and it is ok, but what is happening the first time, please?
