  Hi, I am trying to sign up, we currently own a domain but have it connected to a Wix site. What is recommended to do – do we do the domain matching for $13 per year . -then when we are ready to move our Wix site to WordPress, do we then cancel the domain mapping? Thanks,

  What’s the domain in question? You’re likely unable to move a free subdomain that wix provides.

  Custom domain can be used at WordPress.com through 2 methods.

  Using your domain:
  1. Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
  2. Map it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
