Not Transferring Domain

  I would like to move forward with the wordpress installation but I will not be moving my domain from it’s current registrar. Please confirm how to move forward.

  Like I said in my title, I am not transferring the domain. I also do not need domain mapping.

  I’d like to associate the free open source wordpress software and connect it to a test site that I’m trying to build on another hosting platform. This hosting platform is my domain registrant and I am not in the position to transfer domains at this time.

  My understanding, as an open source platform, I should be able to setup a website and add a theme free of charge.

  I’d like a workaround, as I’ve said I am not transferring domains.

  My understanding is that this is the wordpress forum which is why I posed the question.

  If I simply cannot connect my wordpress site with my hosting account (which is all already paid for), then this open source software is not quite as open source as wordpress likes to market.

  I do not need domain mapping, I do not want my domain transferred, all I want is to properly connect my test site so that I can actually update the themes and start creating the content required.

  Those forums don’t help me. I have my own hosting environment. I do not want to use yours. Are you not an open source software that can connect to different hosting environments?

  If you can’t do what I’m asking, just tell me and I’ll move on to using a different software platform that actually works with my hosting environment.
