"Nothing Found" showing on front page, despite published posts.

  Why does the theme “untitled” show “Nothing Found” on the front (“Your latest posts “) page? Recent posts are listed in the sidebar. (There are four posts published in the last few days.) The image carousel correctly links to them through their featured pictures.

  Hello.

  Here is the link: http://thecagenovel.wordpress.com/. I just reactivate “untitled”, with the same result. Other themes with carousels behave the same, but themes without them seem to work properly, so I’m obviously missing something.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for sending that link — I see what you’re talking about now. With the Untitled theme, your sticky posts are placed in the carousel, and other posts that aren’t marked sticky will show up underneath the carousel. However, all four of your blog posts are marked sticky. That means there aren’t any blog posts to show under the carousel, so your theme shows a “not found” error there.

  You can resolve that error by publishing a new post that isn’t marked sticky, or by making one of your existing posts not sticky. Please let me know if I can provide any further help with that. :)

  I’ve gone both ways on ‘sticky’ trying to solve this. I just now removed it from the four posts and it behaves the same. :(

  Ah, but that was the hint! If the post is in the carousel (which they all are because they have the “featured content” tag), then it won’t show below the carousel. Makes perfect sense. I was trying to use it in a way it probably wasn’t intended.

  Oops, sorry about that! A lot of themes with a carousel like that select the posts that are marked as sticky — I forgot that the Untitled theme uses a featured tag for the carousel, instead. I’m glad you figured it out! :)
