Notice to Developers: Login Links Broken
-
I want to inform the development team about a bug: While trying to use the login link feature as usual, the site failed to log me in. I received the link in my email as usual, clicked it and was told that I had been logged in. However, I didn’t have access to any of the develoment tools and the site still encouraged me to log in or create an account—clearly I was not logged in.
Without access to my username (I never wrote it down), there was no way to log in. (Note: I think it would be best to include a feature where a user can easily find out their username to avoid this problem in the future.) I finally figured out my username by clicking the “change my password” button which sent me an email which listed my username. Using my username and password I successfully logged in.
In summary, the login with email function is broken and it is nearly impossible for users who don’t have their username available to log in. Please fix the login links when possible.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
