Old blog not updated for 1 or 2 years now not accessible even though visible

After not having updated my page for years, I wanted to login now, yet I could not access or edit the blog. It was visible, so I searched for answers and found that I might need to start a personal payment plan. Which I did, I own a domain stefankai.com and redirect to WordPress blog.stefankai.com.

Now I started the subscription with stefankai.com but I have now an empty new blog. And my old blog blog.stefankai.com is still not accesible.

What will I have to do to have this old blog connected to the new payment plan? At least I need to access the blog’s content so I can transfer it…

    Thanks and best wishes

    Stefankai

    Hi there,

I understand how important it is to access and preserve your blog content, especially when you’ve put in so much effort over the years. Let me guide you through this situation.

Firstly, from what I found out, it appears that your original blog at stefankai.com is hosted by a different provider. This might have been taken offline due to reasons such as hosting plan expiration or some other factors. In your case, it appears that your host is Mesh Digital (HEG), which has since been acquired by GoDaddy.

What I would recommend is to reach out to GoDaddy (since Mesh Digital (HEG) was acquired by them). They might be able to provide information on what happened to your original blog and if there’s any way to restore it or provide you with a backup.

Once your site is restored, or if you manage to get a backup, you can then migrate it over to WordPress.com. We have a straightforward migration process, and I’m here to help if you need any assistance.

In the event that GoDaddy is unable to restore your blog or provide a backup, you can try checking the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. They periodically archive web pages, and there’s a possibility they might have a cached version of your blog. If you find one, you can manually save your content and then copy it over to your new WordPress.com blog.

I hope you’re able to recover your content. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or if there’s any other way I can assist you.
