I’ve updated my email address with my domain host, but when I’m in WordPress the old email address is still my only option. I’ve clicked refresh email address and nothing is working.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, can you give more details on what it is you are trying to do? Is this for your site at dahlschainsawartkeystone.wordpress.com or a different site?

  • Hi there,

Are you trying to transfer your domain to WordPress.com? What is the domain you’re trying to transfer?

If you’ve recently updated the email address with your domain provider, please make sure that you’ve confirmed the address change. Your domain provider would have sent you a confirmation email when you updated the domain contact email.

Also note that making changes to the domain contact email of a domain can result in the domain being transfer locked for 60 days, unless your domain provider specifically offers you an option to opt out of that lock.

    Hello,

I am trying to transfer the domain dahlschainsawart.com to my site at dahlschainsawartkeystone.wordpress.com. We own the domain. We changed the email on our Bluehost account to my email address so we could send the link to enter to EPP code to get the transfer done. I did confirm the address change with a confirmation email.

However, the new email address is not coming through on the WordPress side.

  • If I look up that domain on the domain transfer screen I see a @hotmail.com address. I also see this address as the admin email if I do a Whois search on your domain:

    https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=dahlschainsawart.com

Should it instead be the Gmail address that’s listed under the registrant contact at that link?

If it should be the Gmail address, then the problem is that Bluehost only appears to have updated the registrant email for your domain, but not the admin email as well. Domain transfer emails go to the address that’s set as the domain admin contact email, so you’ll need to make sure they also update that contact before you can proceed with the transfer.
