Old revisions showing up via "Search" widget.

WordPress autosaved a post revision and claims it is more current than the one I published (which is not true). Since I apparently can’t delete revisions, and WP thinks it is the most current, that old revision is showing up when I search for words in the post in the Search widget. Yikes!! I have permanently deleted all trashed posts, and I also re-saved my most current post, but using the Search widget still brings up the old post. Please tell me how to correct this.

Yes, I tried that, and it still happens. I even tried viewing it from a different computer. I got it to at least see my published version as the most recent one (by re-saving it), but when I search for any word in my post, it still shows me an old version (but with the current title… which is weird).
