Old site still being charged for

So this isn’t going to wordpress is it, it’s going to a forum. Very annoying!!!!
Hi, I don’t know how I hadn’t noticed, but years ago I was involved with a friend helped her new business. I think I bought the domain name. A company built her a site in WordPress. We ceased using the site years ago, but I have just found payments have been going out of my account annually via pay pal, and shouldn’t be. I can find no access to this old account. It was via a different email.
Could I be refunded these payments as we have not been using this domain?

I’ve checked on our end and we do not have a record of this site ever being registered with WordPress.com. You are sure on the spelling? I do not see any upgrades under your WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
