Old website still active
-
I deleted my WordPress account and website in 2022 but it is still live? I have the confirmation email from WordPress to say that it was done. The site is still the same. I don’t know how to delete it as I have no access to it anymore?
-
As that site is still live, you certainly didn’t delete your account and website. What is the URL of the site you are talking about?
-
I do have the email from WordPress saying that the account has been deleted. This is the website
-
That site is definitely still online as you can see for yourself and you certainly didn’t close the account https://wordpress.com/forums/users/laurenhilton/

-
Yes I see this. I have an email stating that it was deleted and closed. What do i do as I can’t access the account to be able to delete it?
-
That email cvertainly wasn’t about the site you are talking about. Nor the account nor the site has been deleted, so you are still able to access the according account.
-
I can’t access the website though, I have tried all of my email addresses and none are associated with the website. I have created a new WordPress account today so that I could access support to find out how to delete the website. Can you kindly signpost me to how to delete it when I cannot access the wordpress account associated with it.

https://laurenhiltonpilates.wordpress.com/ is still live, which means it’s owned by a different account.
Did you ever sign up or log in using a social login option instead of your email? If you created the Pilates site account that way, typing your email into the login form won’t find it — you’d need to use that same login option instead.
Here’s what I’d try, in this order:
- Go to https://wordpress.com/log-in and try the social login buttons on the right side — if an account was already created with one of them, it’ll log you straight in.
- If that doesn’t work, try the “Email me a login link” option on the same page with any email you might have used — old ones, work ones, anything. It sends a one-click login link so you don’t need a password.
- If nothing finds the account, use the Account Recovery form at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery. Enter the Pilates site URL, mention you have multiple accounts and aren’t sure which one owns it and include any proof of ownership.

If the team can’t verify ownership through the form, there’s still a fallback — they can set the site to private so it drops off Google. Not the same as deletion, but it gets the content out of public view.

I’ve seen this happen before where old caches or DNS settings keep a site visible even after deletion. Since you have the confirmation email, the support team should be able to manually purge it from their servers. Hope it gets sorted soon!

That’s about the account laurenmhilton, not laurenhilton!
So log out from current slowly1d985b63e5 and log in with the username laurenhilton.
