Omit part of post from RSS
-
Quick question: is it possible to force part of a post to be omitted from the RSS feed for the site?
I have an HTML table I’m using (as a table of information no less!) that is a little complicated, and I’d rather leave it out of the RSS, or better yet, replace it in the RSS feed with a “View full post for more information” type substitute message.
Thanks!

You may want to change to Summary in the Reading Settings of your Dashboard. This will truncate all Posts in RSS Readers and the email sent to subscribers http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/
The other option is to use an Excerpt for your Post, if your theme supports it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

Good to know! Thanks for the quick feedback!
I’m guessing that the Summary option cannot be turned on for a single post, so I think I’m going to try the Excerpt…as long as my theme supports it…
Off to experiment! Thanks again!
