ONE USER PROFILE PAGE TO RULE THEM ALL

  • Unknown's avatar

I am stumped! Here is the issue:

I am using the following plugins to run a member site:

    -Buddypress
    -BBpress
    -Paid Memberships Pro
    -Woocommerce

This gives my community members 4 different places they could potentially go to edit their profile information. CONFUSING!

I DO NOT want my community members to see or use the WordPress backend, but would rather have a nice looking profile page in one place integrated with all these plugins that give my members one place to make changes, update their membership, change passwords, etc.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Also, if I am being redundant with plugin usage, please let me know.

  • Hi there,

You’re posting in the support forums for WordPress.com, but your question is regarding plugins for the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, which is something completely different.

One option is to connect your site to WordPress.com using the Jetpack plugin, enable Jetpack’s SSO (Secure Sign-on) feature, and set it so all users on your site are forced to create a WordPress.com/Gravatar account to be able to log into your site.

For other options, please ask in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

(Whether or not someone would see the WordPress backend of your site would depend on their user role – only contributors to admins have access to WP-Admin, and guests, customers and forum members usually don’t. The various plugins that add those custom user roles usually have their own built-in account management pages that you can enable to allow users to manage their profiles from the front end.)
