Orvis – How to Collapse Posts in Homepage
-
Hello. I am new to WordPress and the Orvis theme. I am starting to build a site with annual year in review posts. I only want one feature image and Year title to show up on the homepage for each year, but notice that my first completed post for the year 2000 isn’t collapsed on the homepage (the homepage includes all the text and mosiac of images for that year). I only want the text and mosaic of images to show up when you click on the feature image for that year from the homepage. Can anyone help me to avoid each post being expanded on the homepage? The draft site I need help with is leonachi.photo.blog
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Some themes have an option at Customize for displaying excerpts on the blog and archives pages, but Orvis doesn’t. If you want only the title and featured image to display for each posts on the blog page, or only a featured image for each post, then using one of the grid layout themes might be more appropriate. Note that not all of the themes included in that list automatically display posts in the grid. Some of them, including Orvis, have instead an optional portfolio page template or front page template that displays portfolio projects in a grid..
Some of the themes with a grid-based or tiled format on the posts page, where each item in the grid or each tile links to a corresponding individual post, include the following:
If you wish to stick with Orvis, the options include the following:
1. Set a static homepage, as described in the Set a Home Page (Front Page) support page, and insert a Blog Posts Block into the page. This block allows you to display up to 100 posts in list or grid format, and includes controls that will allow you to display only the post titles and images.
I guess that after you reach 100 posts you’d add a second blog posts block on top of the first.
2. Insert a More Block into each post editor at the top of the editor window. The More Block truncates the content of a post displayed on the blog and archive pages at the point where it is inserted.
