other account closure
-
Hello:
I had another WP account named ‘SanDiegoCA411’ and when I tried to sign in the other day, I got a message stating the account was closed. I never closed the account.
I had a domain name ‘www.SanDiegoCA411.com’ and that domain is no longer active, but that should never have affected the WP account. I was having trouble with hackers, so I’m guessing someone hacked into the account and deleted it.
I tried to go through the process of retrieving the account back, but I couldn’t find the verification code in my email. It was so long ago. I do, however, have emails for http://www.SanDiegoCA411.com from WP, which I can provide. Is there a way to get that account back?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

We have no record of SanDiegoCA411.com ever being registered or hosted here, so it was more than likely a site using the WordPress software from https://wordpress.org/ and hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
It was also not using our backup product https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/ so we won’t be able to directly assist with this.
I recommend contacting your former hosting provider, as it’s still possible they may have a backup of your account with them. It’s also likely that your account with them is still active, but the domain has expired, and they can assist with that too.

Thank you for the speedy reply. And sorry for the miscommunication. The login was ‘SanDiegoCA411’ but the website was separate. Do you have a login for ‘SanDiegoCA411’ ?

We did, it was deleted by way of a username change, but it did not have access to the site in question, as the site was not hosted on WordPress.com as mentioned above.

We do show that there used to be an account under that name, yes. But it was renamed several years ago to
bitetesting1To clarify, when an account is renamed the old username is “deleted” so that no one can use it again. This is permanent and the username cannot be recovered.
However if you wish to log in under the new username, you can send yourself a new password at this link: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
