Other sites say they cannot link to my site – any idea why?

I’ve been frequently told by other sites that they’re unable to link to my site. After extensive rummaging within my dashboard I’m stumped as to why. Anyone kind enough to helpfully suggest a reason?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for responding. I’m not sure which exact URL they’re using but assume it’s my actual site URL.

Having mulled it over I’ve decided that they’re simply not doing it correctly – so will end this topic here – thanks again.

You’ve two urls for your blog. Probably this is the reason.

@cafine either – https://junemalone.wordpress.com/ or http://junemalone.com/ will work since you have domain forwarding and both end up at junemalone.com – I clicked on your name and ended up at junemalone.com – you are using https:// which is for a secure link – have your friend try just plain http:// – seems I have seen some issues with https:// on some systems –

Ask your friends what they are trying to use for a URL – send them a link to the end site junemalone.com

@cafine – you can also use a Contact Form for people to contact you.

If you have time – go to Dashboard > Appearance > Extras and make sure that hide related links… box is unchecked. Somewhile the problem also occurs from there. :)

@wpgaurav- Can you give an example where having Related Links enabled causes problems for others websites to link to a WordPress.com website?

Thanks @wpgaurav I checked that and it was unchecked. Good call.

Two people have managed to link to me now after I tried what @auxclass suggested (told them to try the http:// instead of https://) and it worked.

So problem solved everyone – thanks again – amazingly helpful.

Related Links won’t cause problems of this nature.

I agree with raincoaster. I also believe that auxclass is on the right track when he says it’s the https:// instead of the http:// that’s causing the problem.

Bonjour j’ai un problème ,aucune personne ne me joint à part les anciens de MSN ,j’ai 33497 lecteurs pourtant ,pas de com ?.Comment me faire des amis ?.J’ai 71 ans , et les liens sont pour moi un mystère ?.De plus je peux me connecter sur mon PC XP (éthernet) et pas sur le vista (wifi)tout cela en fibre optique ,pourquoi ?.
