outsourced my site and now need to take it back

  • Unknown's avatar

I paid someone to set up my site and now do not have the credentials to access it myself. What are my options please?? The person who set it up is not responding to my emails/texts.

I own the name and can change the nameservers so the site comes down, but I like the site and would prefer not to recreate it all. Advise please

  • Hi there,

What is the URL of the site you’re trying to access?

Note that we’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers on WordPress.com.

If someone created this site for you using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, only that hosting provider might be able to help you with this, so you’d need to contact them directly for help instead in that case.

    Thx for your help

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the open-source WordPress.org software and it is hosted on Amazon Cloud (AWS). Therefore, you need to contact them regarding your issue.

We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us. For help with your site you need to ask over at the WordPress.org forums:

If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the open-source WordPress.org software you can read this article:
