Own a domain name. WordPress says the name is already taken and won't let me use

  Domain mapping works by connecting the name, such as typewon.net for example, to a WordPress.com blog, such as writingstraight.wordpress.com or wwwtypewon.wordpress.com.

  The confusing part is, because of the mix-up with the domain mapping earlier, you need to setup the blog first, and then we can connect the domain name to the WordPress.com blog. Sorry for all the trouble!

  I took a guess and mapped typewon.net to wwwtypewon.wordpress.com for you (and I sent you a separate email about it).

  You can access the WP Admin dashboard for that blog directly at:
  https://wwwtypewon.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  Raincoaster, thank you for your help. That clarifies things, but I already did the mapping. It’s going to my main site and it needs to be a site on it’s own.

  Very strange: When I go to the link from the Facebook page, it took me there and from there, I added a photo and tried to start the blog, but when I go to my sites, the typewon.net is there, but it is not linked to a blog. It just shows stats. This is not making any sense.

  That’s because it is a new blog. You can customize it or I can point typewon.net to a different site for you. Either way will work!

  That is the new dashboard. Stats is the default view. You can use the menu items on the left to manage content (look for Blog Posts, Pages, etc.) or you can use the older dashboard instead. It is available at:
