Package or buy things seperately?

    Should I do an upgrade package or just buy things separately? I am starting a blog and I want to be able to control ads and make money on them, however is the premium upgrade plan that blocks ads allow you to have certain ads to make money for you? Or should I just buy things separately like the color customization upgrade, and anything else to design my blog? I plan on purchasing the domain name I want but first I want to have this all figured out.
