page editing not working properly

  Please help me see how to edit all aspects of the front page of the website, and product pages. For example, when in edit mode, the text displays in light gray as it should (per my edits), but when preview page (after saving), it shows black. And I can’t see how to remove price from the top right header showing ‘0.00’ in cart, and lower on the page, there are several template product display areas like ‘fan favorites’ and ‘new in’ that do not appear on the page in edit mode but show up on the preview page. How do I edit / remove?
