Page Errors

Hi, getting frustrated as not getting any response from actual WordPress on this matter and hoping to have better luck here.
I am trying to create and organise a menu on a Premium Theme I purchased called Outspoken. I have looked at a dozen videos on You Tube to assist with this and I have followed all the instructions carefully.
I have created the Pages in the relevant Pages area as per requirements. I then went to the Menu section under Appearance in Dashboard and created a new Menu. According to the instructions, on this page on left side of the page under the drop down heading of “Pages”, the list of Pages I created earlier should appear… This is where the problem is. All the Categories I had previously created appear, but none of the Pages.
Would really appreciate any help possible.
    Thank you.

If you do not have a WordPress.com blog, and it appears you do not, we cannot help you. Our answers would not apply to your version of the software.

Hi raincoaster, thanks for message. There is a blog that I am trying to create under stevennemeth.com on WordPress, but it’s unpublished as I cannot get anything into the blog until I can set up the framework. Right now it just has a header image and nothing more.

Well, volunteers in the forum can’t see private blogs, so we cannot help you except to suggest that the videos you are looking at almost certainly apply to the WP.org version, not the WP.com version, so you are wasting your time.

If you have purchased a premium theme you can post in the specific forum for that theme and receive assistance from the theme designer. I wish they’d put the link in the sidebar:

Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction, truly. It has been frustrating. What they really should also look at doing is making sure any themes that are sold via the WordPress website are also fully compatible with the system, otherwise its a waste of time. If I knew I was going to have this problem, I would not have purchased it.

    Thanks again.

Well, they ARE fully compatible with the system. They have been specially designed for it. Most of these issues come up because it’s simply not possible to format a blog that has no content; until you have one or two static pages and four or five posts, it’s impossible to see what it actually looks like and configure it the way you want.

You are a legend and thanks for all the help. I did try posting a few images into it to see if something would show, but will do some more over weekend. Its just strange that categories show properly, just not pages. I am starting to wonder wether in this particular theme they may use categories as the pages equivalent…
Anyway, as you can see I am a total novice on this stuff.
    Thanks again.

Since I can’t see the theme, I can’t help. Some of the premium themes get pretty fancy with their configurations. Root around on the demo page for the theme and look in the forum for that theme. Someone else is bound to have had the same issues.

Also, does this help (taking a total stab in the dark) http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/posts-on-pages/

That link has sorted everything pretty much out and makes sense. Actually covers a number of issues related to how the Theme maker has created confusion.
    Thanks again.
    Have a great weekend.
