Page media multiplying after replacement

  Hi guys, i’ve never used word press before and am editing a website. I downloaded a replace media plug in (specifically Enable Media Replace, by ShortPixel) to replace images on a website, I replaced the image twice, and it made the photo appear 6 times on the website. Every website and other forums say to edit the photo from appearance -> customize, but that does not allow me to edit the photo.

  Hi, welcome to WordPress! Don’t worry, this is a common one.

  The duplicates are likely extra copies sitting in your media library from the replacements. You can go to Media in your dashboard and manually delete the extra copies from there.

  For the Customize issue, if you’re on a newer theme try going to Appearance then Editor instead, as many themes have moved away from the Customize panel.

  Since the duplication is tied to the plugin itself, ShortPixel’s support at https://shortpixel.com/contact will be your best bet for a permanent fix. They’re quite responsive!
