Page Nickname?

  Hi!
  I am working on a website with someone else and I need help with editing a page name without editing the title. He had the others done somehow but now neither of us know how to change it. Any ideas? Thanks :D

  Yes, you can “edit” the page without editing title, “Just click on Edit page”.

  Hi there,

  The page name and the page title is the same thing – it’s the text that appears at the top of the page, just above the content, and what is represented by the (no title) that appears in the screen shot you provided.

  The only way to change that is to edit the page, and add a title in the title field in the editor.

  If by “name” you perhaps mean the bit after the dash – Checkout, Cart, Front Page, etc., that is the unique role the page is assigned on your site. Changing the title won’t change that – those page roles are assigned in the site settings, or in the settings for your eCommerce plugin.

  By the way, if you’re using the open source WordPress software, which it appears you do based on that screen shot, note that it works a bit differently from WordPress.com, and the best place to get help with that version of WordPress is https://wordpress.org/support/
