Page views to jetpack contact form spam
-
Hi all,
I’m having a problem that originated with jetpack’s contact form, so hopefully someone here is able to help.I had the contact form up on my site for a month or so.
I soon started received spam messages in groups of 4 with titles like “date girls in your city”.
I deleted these as soon as they arrived in my email inbox, but didn’t realise they were still “live” on my site until I saw them appearing in my page view stats.
Now I’ve deleted them all, but two months later I’m still getting hits on them.I thought given time Google would stop sending traffic to these non existent pages, but apparently not.
Any ideas?Many thanks,

Hi there,
Are you referring to the contact form or the comment form? Submissions from the contact form don’t end up on the site but sent to your email. Comments can end up on your site and there are things you can do to filter spam on your site:
However, although your site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, it is using the open-source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would also reach out to your site host for help.
Thanks!

Thanks very much. It is in fact the contact form, which is why this is so strange to me.
I will take my question to the correct forums :)
